 The Nesmuk cutting boards are more than just objects with extraordinary aesthetic appeal. They are also important working appliances that are manufactured with extreme care from the very best southern German oak to protect the sharp blades of your knives. Only the hardest part of the wood - the cross-grain wood - is used. Oak has a high tannic acid content. As a result, it has natural antibacterial properties and satisfies hygiene requirements. The individual slats are all-heart wood and hand-picked to ensure optimum quality. These living structures are then precisely assembled to create a typical, symmetrical pattern that is enhanced by the simple shape of the boards. Each one is absolutely unique. The class D3 adhesive which is used for the Nesmuk cutting boards is food safe and watertight. It ensures that the boards can withstand a breaking load of around 1,360 kg. A very fine surface polish and subsequent treatment with linseed oil and beeswax gives the boards an exclusive-looking, silky finish. The cutting boards are either available in a natural version or, following old tradition, in a dark smoked version. They have two wide grip indents and a generously-dimensioned juice groove which is very easy to clean. Six silicone grip feet are drilled into the underside to anchor the board for safe cutting. Care information: Nesmuk cutting boards are not dishwasher safe. Wipe with a damp cloth to clean and leave to dry. Rub cooking oil into the surface from time to time. This restores the board's intense colour and provides it with more effective protection against moisture penetration. Technical Data *IMPORTANT* Everyone of these boards are unique and hand made. Because these are custom materials, colour and grain variations will occur in every board. Minor blemishes in natural materials is normal and common and part of the beauty of the materials used.
