I purchased the Scanpan chopping board as I have recently bought a knife set. The chopping board is very good quality and appears to be durable, looks classy and is sympathetic to knife blades.

Nice cutting board. Wood is very hard and cutting marks are barely visible after two month of solid use. Good size and weight. Would have preferred a darker colour but the price was just too good! No problems with staining so fare.

I don't know if it's just me - but i have already gone through one of these boards so far and the second one i have is about to go back too. I found after about 1 month the board started splitting along 2 of the joins (on both sides). Thinking it was a one off, i got it replaced under warranty - but within a week the board starting splitting again. Happened after about a week this time. There are some days that i don't even use the board at all so it's not like i'm giving it a good workout or anything. I'm pretty disappointed in it considering the sort of quality Scanpan try to portray. When this one goes back i'll be getting another brand of chopping board and as long as the quality of the board is better, it wouldn't bother me if i paid double for it.

...me again. After i got my 2nd Scanpan board replaced under warranty and ended up going with a Boos board. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! :)

I bought a Scanpan chopping board after being extremely happy with the Scanpan saucepan set that I purchased. I was a bit hesitant because there's been quite a few reviews (not just for this size chopping board but other sizes as well) stating the same problem with the joints separating in the Scanpan boards, but I went ahead anyway... and wish I hadn't. As soon as I got it out of the box I noticed one of the joints had already come apart all the way through to the other side. Instead of exchanging it for another Scanpan board and risking it happening again I've returned it and purchased a Boos chopping board instead, which I'm very very happy with. As this is obviously an ongoing problem with the Scanpan chopping boards and not a one-off, it might be an good idea if Everten checked the Scanpan boards that have been ordered before shipping them out. Obviously this is going to be a bit of a pain in the ass for them but it would save both Everten and the customers the hassle of exchanging or refunding.
